You don’t wanna show up with nothing scary to sing. Where’s the fun in that?
Spooky season means singing your heart out!
Halloween is here, and with it comes all of the fun, especially if you’re hanging out with us at KAMU. It pretty much goes without saying that if you’re singing karaoke on Halloween (or Halloweek, as we like to celebrate all week long), you must have at least a few themed songs in the tuck for your big performance. So here are our five faves to sing for the Halloween season.
Michael Jackson – “Thriller”
This one is a no brainer. MJ’s “Thriller” is like the pinnacle of any song choice you’d ever want to sing at karaoke on Halloween. If you can do the dance and the song, then you’ve truly won the night. Seriously. You’ll be the life of the party, even as a zombie.
Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers – “Monster Mash”
Another one that is a Halloween staple and comes with its own dance. The “Monster Mash” is not only a graveyard smash, but it’s also a big hit at any venue, especially ours. You’ll get the whole suite jumping with this one.
Kanye West f. Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Bon Iver, and Rick Ross – “Monster”
Speaking of monsters, this is a good one as a group effort. While not exactly intended to be a Halloween hit, this one has its own lyrical scaries, so why not grab a few friends and kill it on the mic? Whoever nails Nicki’s verse is the real champion.
Ray Parker, Jr. – “Ghostbusters”
Come on now, if you want the whole room chanting GHOSTBUSTERS, then this is the song for you. Sing the Ghostbusters theme at karaoke for all of the fun and laughs, and none of the haunting. You can carry a Proton Pack if you want to, though.
Bow Wow Wow – “I Want Candy”
Looking for a song that’s a little more about trick or treating than haunting? This classic is it. A declaration for some candy will always yield a reward. Maybe if you sing it loud enough, something sweet will show up. Hey, you never know!
