Finally, April is upon us, which is where Spring Fever really starts. It’s one of those months where we realize the Summer is creeping up slowly, but still get to enjoy a new season—that for many doesn’t include a snow storm. At KAMU, we love April, mainly because it’s when people stop hibernating and come back outside regularly to hang out with us. For that reason, we have compiled some new songs that are essential bangers to sing this month. We know how hard it is to choose from an endless catalogue, so we did some of the guesswork for you. Miley Cyrus – “Flowers”
In honor of Spring starting and flowers blooming, let’s kick things off with Miley’s hit breakup anthem. It’s all about buying yourself flowers (you don’t have to wait for someone else to do it), but also rising from the ashes with your head held high. Not to mention, it’s one of those songs you can just sing so loudly and proudly.
BTS – “SWIM”
This new banger from our favorite K-Pop boy band is perfect for a few of your friends to sing together. Part love song, part inspirational tune, this one can be paired with some dance moves. You don’t even have to be coordinated really, just go with the flow. But it could be kind of cool to plan a dance routine ahead of time.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars – “Die With A Smile”
This song continues to live on as one of the most romantic duets in recent times. You can be lovers or you can be friends and still sing this one with passion at karaoke. Here’s another track where singing at the top of your lungs is totally welcome. Chances are, everyone else will be singing along with you too.
Paramore – “Misery Business”
We could call this one an “oldie but goodie,” but does this song ever really get old? If you live anywhere on social media, you’ll find “Misery Business” still traveling through the algorithm. Pick it up and put it on your karaoke playlist for a guaranteed energy-packed singalong. Nothing beats yelling the hook on this one.
Kendrick Lamar – “Not Like Us”
It’s amazing how one song can be both a club banger and car ride hit, yet also a recent karaoke favorite. Kendrick Lamar so expertly made this song something for everyone, complete with chants that the rest of your friends can ad-lib while the song is being rapped. Talk about a versatile hit!
BLACKPINK – “Jump”
Here’s another new single from one of the world’s most popular girl groups. This one though should come with a fair warning: you and your friends better be ready to bring the energy. Singing this new cut will have the whole place jumping. A friendly suggestion would be to sing this one right after everyone is warmed up to really pump up the place. Watch your private suite come alive.
Jay-Z ft. Rihanna, and Kanye West – “Run This Town”
Closing out the list with this classic, because this one’s an anthem to declare yourself the king/queen of the city. With you and a few friends performing this one, you’ll definitely feel like you own the Las Vegas Strip for the evening, especially when you’re in our environment. It’ll leave you ready to take over the world after that.
